Oceans Alive

Why is the ocean so important and why should we protect it? Because it covers over 70% of our planet! Come investigate the characteristics of the sea and find out why it makes such a great home to so many animals. Explore marine animal adaptations including cryptic coloration, mimicry and bioluminescence. We’ll also learn about how our changing climate can affect our blue planet and the impacts it has on marine life!

Marine Science

From the deep Mariana Trench to the floating Sargasso Sea, there is so much to discover about life in the ocean. What is it like to live in an underwater lab or work on a research vessel that can flip vertically?  What can marine mammals and ice core samples from the Arctic tell us about our changing climate? Join us as we simulate some current research experiments that real oceanographers are doing as we learn about marine life, ocean circulation, the sea floor, and more!

Globe Trekkers

From the icy tundra of Northern Europe, to the dry deserts of Central Australia, we’re studying science on a global scale! Why do culture and customs change from continent to continent? Find out as we sample new foods, listen to world music, and experiment with artistic expression. How does the climate of a country determine what can live there? A classroom visit from live animals will help us discover the answer!
