The Museum connects the public to Triangle Science
The Triangle region of North Carolina, anchored by Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, is one of the most dynamic and globally competitive regions of research and innovation in science, technology and medicine in the world. Within the Research Triangle, named for the triangle formed by the region’s three major research universities — the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Duke University in Durham, and the North Carolina State University in Raleigh — is the Research Triangle Park (RTP), one of the largest science parks in North America.
The scientific research, technological innovation, and advancements in medicine of the Triangle are impacting the lives of people around the world. Yet, many of the Triangle’s residents know little of what is happening here, of its impact, or about the people — our neighbors — who are leading these activities and achievements.
The Museum of Life and Science is a leader in the public understanding of, and engagement in, science in the Triangle region and beyond. Through this website and the exhibits, programs, and publications of the Museum, members and visitors are connected to researchers and innovators in the academic and corporate communities and to their work. Science today is a collaborative endeavor and so is science education. Through collaboration with the region’s universities, corporations, medical centers, as well as journalists, the Museum strives to make Science in the Triangle part of everyone’s learning experience.
