Tips for Your Visit

Because visiting the Museum as a school group is a different experience than visiting as an individual or family group, we've put together information specifically for teachers and group leaders. Find out what to do in the months, weeks, and days before your visit in our Countdown to a Smooth Visit. Then, print off our Day of Your Visit information to ensure the smooth field trip you've been preparing for.

Science Nights

At the Museum

Reserve an exclusive evening at the Museum for your students, families and staff. Enjoy up to three hours exploring our main Museum building.

Available 5:30-8:30 PM, Monday-Friday. For availability, details and rental fees, call the Rentals Manager at (919) 220-5429 x400.

At Your School

Bring the fun and excitement of the Museum to your school. We bring all the materials - you provide the space and partipating students, families and teachers. $180/hour/topic. For more details, call (919) 220-5429 x313.

Professional Development for Teachers

We offer Teacher Professional Development Workshops on a variety of topics, or Museum faculty can consult with teachers individually to assist with classroom set-up, integrating inquiry-based science exploration into your curriculum, and more.
