Encounter hundreds of exotic butterflies, carnivorous plants, prehistoric cycads, and vibrant tropical flowers in our tropical conservatory, the Magic Wings Butterfly House. While there, get an up-close view of exotic insects and their predators from around the globe in the Bayer CropScience Insectarium.
Outdoors at the Museum
Hike the Dinosaur Trail and find yourself surrounded by realistic models of late Cretaceous, North American dinosaurs.
Visit our award-winning Explore the Wild. It's a 6-acre outdoor exhibit the National Science Foundation proclaimed a "national model" as the first science center expansion linking people with plants, animals, and interactive exhibits in the out-of-doors.
At Catch the Wind, you can captain a boat in a 5,000-square foot sailboat pond to learn about the invisible, ubiquitous power of wind.
Our Farmyard has sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, a steer, turkeys, chickens, and a donkey, Lightning, who loves to play fetch with his rubber ball!
In Loblolly Park, you can make music with drums and bells, climb our multi-level structure, and experiment with water pumps.
