All day: Custom create your own stuffed animal

For $15 you can make your own stuffed animal as the gift shop will have the animal-stuffing-party set up.

Junior Keeper ($50) - SOLD OUT 
Help care for the Museum’s animals by becoming a Junior Animal Keeper for the morning. Work to prepare diets, feed animals, clean, do enrichment and provide veterinary treatments. Preregistration required. Limit 6 kids. Age 10-14. Members only.

Exploring Animal Behavior ($85 per family)

Try one of our new programs for families! Step outdoors to take on the role of wildlife biologists, recording the behaviors of our bears, wolves, and lemurs in Explore the Wild. Pre-registration is required. Members only.

Come meet Dr Cannedy who is the veterinarian that cares for our farmyard mammals. Watch him check the health of our animals and get a look at his truck- a veterinary hospital on wheels.

Entry Plaza Activities

Animal Coverings: Touch some real fur, feathers and scales and learn how animals use these coverings for protection.
Stuffed Animal First Aid: Learn some first aid techniques for pets, and put your new skills to work! Bring a stuffed animal from home (or stuff one here at the Museum!) and practice taking care of your animal.
Animal Masks: Decorate a simple animal mask to wear so that you can be a part of the animal activities too!
Animal Adaptation Dress Up: Try on and learn how having different body parts can help an animal live in the snow, in the desert or in the water!

Learn about animal enrichment and what the keepers do to enrich our animals. Help make enrichment items for our bears, and see if you can pass the sniff test.

Pet Activities

Learn about enrichment that you can do with your pets at home. Make a cat dancer or throw toy for you dog. Sample homemade pet treats and learn how to make them yourself.
