Focused Field Trips
Focused Field Trips at the Museum of Life and Science are planned experiences that strengthen the science you are teaching in your classroom. We offer a range of trips from teacher-planned and -guided to totally immersive, full-day experiences led by Museum faculty.
Wayfinders
Planning your own visit? Our Wayfinders are an excellent way to focus your trip. Printed outlines will direct you to the Museum exhibits best suited for your grade level, provide questions to explore at each exhibit, and suggest activities for your students at the Museum and in your classroom.
Field Kits
Pick up one of our free Field Kits to make your self-guided visit even more meaningful. These pre-designed, 30-minute lessons enhance our exhibits in Explore the Wild. Field Kits come complete with directions and materials for six students. They're easy to tote and easy to implement! Kits are available at the Admissions Desk on a first-come, first-served basis. Multiple copies of each kit available. See a list of Field Kit topics with appropriate grade levels.
Facilitated Focused Field Trips
Led by a Museum faculty member, these Focused Field Trips are hosted in private labs on our campus. Choose from 50, 90 or 180-minute Focused Field Trips to get the level of involvement that is right for your class. Programs are based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Science Nights
The Museum offers exclusive evening programs at the Museum for your staff, your students, and their families. Enjoy up to two hours exploring our main Museum building between the hours of 5:30 to 8:30, Monday through Friday.
