At the Museum | Planning a Field Trip

If you’re ready to make a reservation, here’s the essential information:
Call The Museum
Call the Reservation Team at (919) 220-5429 x313. When you call, please have the following information ready:
- Specific date and time of arrival
- Contact person’s full name, organization's address, and telephone number
- Number in the group on the day of the visit
- Special arrangements needed for members of the group with special needs
After you register, you will receive a written confirmation, map, and additional information to plan your visit.
Group Rate
The group rate is $6.00 per person. In order to receive the group rate, the group’s fee must be delivered in one payment. Museum members will need to check in separately. The Museum accepts MaterCard, Visa, personal checks, cash or purchase order (to be invoiced). Groups can be invoiced upon request.
Train Tickets
Train tickets may be purchased only at the Admissions desk on a first-come, first-served basis. The charge for tickets is $2.00 per person in addition to admission fees.
Food
Grayson’s Café at the Museum is open daily for lunches and snacks. Sack lunches may be ordered in advance. For more information please call (919) 220-5429 x358. We provide a picnic area near bus parking if you choose to bring your own lunch; this space has tables in the open and under a small shelter. Food may not be brought into the Museum, Nature Park or Butterfly House. All spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gift Shops
There are two Museum stores that are available for field trip groups, one in the main building and one at the Butterfly House. The shops have a variety of goods.
